Privacy at Navi
Navi is a browser extension that guides you through websites. This page explains, in plain words, what it reads, where that goes, and what it never touches.
When Navi reads anything
Navi has no access to your browsing in general. It only works on a tab after you click its toolbar coin, and the first time, it asks for your agreement before sending anything.
Navi can also ask, once, whether it may follow you when a quest opens a new tab or takes you to another website (a checkout or a delivery company's tracking page). If you say yes, Navi continues the quest there and reads that page while the quest runs. It only follows tabs opened from the tab where your quest is running, never your other tabs, and you can turn this off in your browser's extension settings.
What Navi sends while it guides you
- Your goal, typed into Navi's panel, and answers you give Navi's questions.
- The page address (without anything after a “?” for questions you ask) and its title.
- The names, types, and positions of the page's buttons, links, and fields.
- A short excerpt (about 900 characters) of visible text in the main area or open pop-up.
- A screenshot of the tab, taken with Navi itself hidden.
- Which steps you have completed in the current quest.
What Navi never sends
- What you type into a website's fields, including passwords. Navi only notes whether a field is filled in.
- Other tabs, your history, bookmarks, or cookies.
- Anything while Navi is paused or stopped.
Where it goes
Data goes over an encrypted connection to Navi's server, which uses AI services to plan and choose steps: Anthropic (Claude) for reasoning and Firecrawl to find the website's public help pages. Those searches include your goal and the website's name. Navi does not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Usage records and accounts
To count free and paid credits, Navi gives each installed copy a random ID and keeps a record of each task: when it ran, how many steps it took, whether it finished, and what it cost to run. These records do not include your goal, the page's content, or which websites you used. When you sign in, Navi receives your name and email address and links your copy of Navi to that account. The records are stored with Supabase, Navi's database provider.
Payments
Credit packs are paid through Stripe, our payment provider. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure page; Navi never sees or stores them. Navi keeps a record of each purchase: which pack, the price, the date, and the account it belongs to, so your credits can be added and shown on every computer where you use Navi. All sales are final.
Feedback
If you send a message on the feedback page, Navi keeps what you wrote, the topic and rating you picked, the email you gave (or your account's email if you're signed in), and your copy of Navi's random ID, in Supabase. We use it only to improve Navi and to reply to you.
What stays on your computer
Navi stores a few things in your browser: where you placed the coin, your agreement, and an unfinished quest (for up to 7 days) so you can resume it. Removing the extension deletes them.
Signing in
Navi needs an account. You sign in with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email; either way Navi receives only your name and email address, through Supabase, our sign-in and database provider.
Your choices
- Don't click the coin on pages you'd rather keep private.
- Use Pause or Stop at any time; Navi stops reading immediately.
- Uninstall from your browser's extensions page whenever you like.
- Ask us to delete your account and its records by emailing the address below.
